First landing on the Moon

Following a soft landing Luna 9 worked for 75 hours and sent seven transmissions to Earth including a TV panorama of the surrounding area. These 1-meter close-ups made it possible to see details as small as 1 mm in size. The data proved the conjecture of V. Sharonov and N. Sytinskaya that the Moon’s crust had meteoric slag structure.
