Zimbabwe Independence Day

This Day is also referred to as Republic Day to commemorate the defeat of the white minority government and the proclamation of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Africans’ armed struggle against the racist regime led to the recognition of Zimbabwe’s independence on 18 April 1980. The republic’s motto is Unity, Freedom, Work.
