The ceremony will take place the day after the Agreement becomes open for signing to countries party to the agreement. This will be the first step aimed at ensuring the Agreement to speedily enter into force. The agreement was approved by the 196 Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention of the Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris on Dec. 12, 2015. In the agreement, all countries pledged to work to keep the increase in global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to aim to limit the increase to 1.5°C. The Agreement is a road map designed to reduce emissions and strengthen resilience to climate change.
