World Rabies Day

28
September 2020
World Rabies Day was established by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control on 25 September 2007. Supported by many healthcare organizations, this day draws public attention to the spread of rabies and its effects. Rabies has a special place among infectious diseases due to its lethal character (if an infected person does not receive medical aid in the first hours of illness they are certain to die of it). The Alliance estimates that 55 thousand people die from rabies every year or on average one person every ten minutes.
